GCo Electrical’s total Karara contract now at $14m

Geraldton based GCo Electrical has won a further $5 million variation to contract for works at the Geraldton Port for Karara Mining. This now takes the total contract value on site for GCo Electrical to $14 million.
The project is expected to deliver 8 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) for export by December 2012, with the facilities being designed to support up to 16 Mtpa.
"This is now the biggest project that GCo Electrical has committed to, the delivery of the contract is setting new standards for GCo Electrical," explained CEO, Murray Hadley.
The contract works include the installation of cables and cable trays, wiring, switch rooms, transformers and lighting, relocation works of existing port infrastructure and the outloading of iron ore from the storage facility to the ship loader for the final phase of loading ships for export.
